      Our 6 month old German Shepherd has been back to vet for the second time on the stitching of her outer skin after spaying. Again after the second time she has a puffy incision. There is no oozing or scab forming. It is really hard to keep her sedentary as the vet requests.

    • First keep her from licking the area. Licking causes more inflammation and irritation. Reactions to absorbable sutures are quite common as that is how they dissolve. Some dogs react more then others. If this continues, talk to your vet about removing the sutures after 10-14 days as the incision is usually healed by that time.
