My Akita has environmental allergies, will shots help?

Bear my Akita has been diagnosed with allergies to mold,timothy grass and some other stuff, it is difficult to treat symptomatically and I hate to see him suffer, specialist vet(dermatologist) recommends allergy shots, anyone have any experiencewith this?

Yes! Go with what the specialist reccomends and it will greatly improve your dog's quality of life. I have the experience of seeing many Akitas, Labradors & other allergy prone breeds with owners that chose to follow -vs- chose to not follow what a veterinary dermatolgist reccomended. The ones that get the injections & follow procedure do much, much better. The ones whose owners chose to not follow have miserable, scratching, half-bald nervous wrecks of pets - I have even see these owners go as far as having the pet euthanized because they can't stand to see them suffer. Please chose wisely.
