Would anyone possibly know where I could get a half German Shepherd/half Akita puppy at?

This is for a friend of mine actually. He had an Akita/Shepherd mixed dog for 17 years that recently passed away. While at his house the other night, he told me that he wishes he could find another one like him.Thank you everyone but just after posting…

Once again, thanks to all.

    • Look around the pounds/rescues. There's no way it would be hard to a find a similar dog.If you're thinking you'll get him a puppy as a gift, make sure he even wants it. Find a nice shepherd mix puppy, go with him to look at it, and offer to pay the shelter fee as a gift.

    • Not something I'd remotely recommend, regardless of whether he had one before (why doesn't he go back to that breeder I wonder). In all truth, just because his previous mix bred dog was a good one doesn't automatically mean another one will be - by a long way. It all depends on which set of genes each individual puppy in the litter takes from the two breeds of dog involved. What you have found is a breeder who is specialising in ripping off the gullible public. Designer dogs are NOT a breed and are rarely bred for anything other than money. The parents are not often tested and are often rejects from the breeding programme of their original breeder (because they have a fault that is sufficient for them not to be worthy of being used). This breeding is unregulated.I can't urge your friend strongly enough to go find himself a reputable breeder of either the Akita, or the GSD and buy himself a well-bred puppy from them. The sooner all this designer breeding is stopped, the better. It's a scam.
