Can anyone tell me if my dog looks full akita?

I got my puppy from a local breeder who said he is full blood akita however he is not registered the mother is but the dad isn't. So I have a picture of him as my profile picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • The photo is really small, but from the looks of it, it does not look like a purebred Akita. It looks more similar to a mastiff mix. But once again, the photo is really small and is hard to give a real opinion. This is what a purebred Akita looks like. Colors Vary.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/78/Akita_inu.jpeg

    • from what I can tell from the small pic, he does not look purebred. I owned an Akita years ago, a beautiful pure white Akita. As another poster said, looks more like a mastiff breed.

    • The picture is so small, but from what I can see,he looks like a shepherd mix. Can you upload a photo to Photobucket and post the link so we can see better?

    • The pic is small, so I blew it up as much as I could, no, he is not purebred Akita, sorry...that is probably why he has no papers for him.He is cute, but is a mix, not a purebred.I have an Akita, registered and is a Therapy Dog as well, and I have been doing Akita Rescues for over 6 yrs now....You may want to talk to the breeder, if he sold the dog as a purebred.
