Does anyone know where I can find a Japanese Akita puppy for sale in Atlanta, GA?

I am really interested in this breed and I am not opposed to adopting one, but I would prefer to buy one and raise it myself. I really have to stress that I am looking for a pure bred "Japanese" Akita, which does not have any black or dark brown coloration because those are characteristics of American Akita's. Thanks.

I don't think you will find one. There are very few breeders of the Japanese style Akita in the USA.You could do a search for Akita Breeders, Atlanta, but I'm 95% sure it will be a waste of time. Currently because of the movie Hero there is a big demand worldwide for Japanese Akitas (the movie is due for release in the US in December; it's an updated, Americanized version of the Hachiko story). It's hard to find puppies for sale even in Japan. A family friend just returned from there and told us.
