How long does it take a dog to have puppies?

My small chihuahua is going to have puppies and I'm scared because I dont know what to do once they're born.

She'll do everything that needs to be done. Just stand by and make sure she is getting them out of their sacks and they are breathing. You might want to talk to your vet before hand and make sure! Good Luck!

Then why is she having puppies?

it normally takes about three mounths for the puppies to comeand just let the mom raise them unless she dosent produce milk then bottle feed them with a formula

i use 2 have a puppie and its like 2-3 months from when they.....and then will have 2-8 puppies

It only takes about an hour or less the come out pretty quick. I am guessing that was not what you were meaning, it can take them a few moths til they are ready to give birth.

60 day they will be herejust leave them alone...the Mom will do everything the pups need..don't worry ..

Then give your dog to someone that knows what to do. Then get your dog spayed.

i think its like 2 months. and you should talk to your vet or somebody and plan ahead. if it helps, i think (assuming that this is an indoor dog) that dogs like to go in a place where nobody else is when they have their pups. find some place where you think that dog would go and lay down a towel so it doesn't stain your carpet.good luck

Many dams especially first timers need help. Opening sacks, getting puppies to breath, putting them on the breast to nurse etc. It would be a lot to write here.I hope you have a healthy wonderful litter and experience there is nothing like the sound of your litter's first little barks when they are around 3-4 weeks. i would say between 2 to 3 months.

57 -63 days from the time it was hooked up u can take the temp normal is 102.3 when the temp starts dropping they go into labor.. you take the temp from the back end.

I don't think you need to do anything, the Mother dog will know what to do.
