I recommend Frontline. It may be expensive, but it works VERY well. Flea collars and flea shampoo only work for a while. You can also use a flea comb to get rid of quite a few. But make sure you buy a good one that has it's combs close together.
The flea droppings you see are actually flea eggs.Do they look like tiny black crumbs?Those are just flea eggs, and I'd get those off, because they hatch a lot.Get a flea collar, I wouldn't do the medicine stuff, because it stinks, and the dog's fur gets all.. greasy and stuff. :P:)Good luck!
Frontline works awesome. Its a little expensive but it last a while. I use it on my Great Dane (which he has to have double of the large dose) But you just put it on their backs and he is good to go. It works well against fleas and ticks.
