Wnat are some good dog breeds for me?

After college, my partner and I want to get an apartment, and we want to get a dog. Between the two of us, I'm sure that we can give a dog all the attention it needs, as well as provide for vet expenses, food, etc. However, I was wondering what are good small to mid-size breeds? I want a dog breed that is known to be intelligent, with a good disposition (to other people, kids, other animals, etc). Also, probably not too high-energy.

I think you should get a dachshund.-Be sure to socialize your dog to avoid fear-biting and aggression.

well if u get a beagle they are smaller and run out of energy quickly..they are also very social and like other animals..i had a beagle but he wasd really fat so he didn't do much

An apartment is no place for a dog, please don't get one. Dogs need room to run, to be able to be outside to get fresh air. Not fair to coop up a dog.

I heard someone say Dachshund...I have a dachshundand the dachshund is a very territorial barky dog who attaches to only one person immediately. my dog HATES me and likes my boyfriend he also nips they are not very good with children (at least most of them arent from my experience) they are also high energy my dog can run and run and run!!
