How do i know if my puppy is dead?

it is midnight so no vet is open so i was wondering if anyone can help me, my dog is still breathing but does not move i think he might be dead but i dont want him to be, what are some symptoms that show the death of a puppy?

well for one.. if he were dead.. he wouldn't be breathing anymore. he'd also be stiff and cold.. so i'm guessing he's not dead. just a guess.

hes still breathing thats good. i think that puppes sleep hard like really hard!!

If it is still breathing it isn't dead.

A lot of vets have a 24 hour emergency number. Go call around until you find one.

Has puppy been ill? If he has take immediate action. Check the phone book for 24 hour vet. Call your vet's office and leave a message. Sometimes they have an emergency phone number on the message or an answering service to page them. Good luck!

If he hasnt moved in 24 hours hes probably dead

Look in the yellow pages for a 24 hour vet. I know in my area there are a few, but I don't know where you live. And do this ASAP. He may be sick, or he may be hurt, but you want to take him to the vet as soon as possible to find out.

a dead puppy will not breathe, and will be completely still and unresponsive and very stiff like a rock. your puppy needs your care right now. call vets anyway and see if any of them have an emergency number. some do.i read another question of yours that people seemed to think he has parvo. why didn't you take it to the vet already???? get it there NOW!

if its not breathing,it may have ants,his/her eyes is closed and he/she is hard

if he isn't moving and you cant wake him up, there is a very good chance that something is very wrong with him, if hes breathing he isn't dead though, i would attempt to find an emergency vet clinic and bring him in. good luck to you and i hope everything is ok.

If its just a puppy, a couple days old, its probobly just sleeping if he's still breathing. Try picking him up and holding him to see if he wakes up and moves. Good Luck

the same symptoms that show the death of a human.. no heartbeat no breathing, give him a good swift kick and if he whimpers or gets up and runs, you have pissed him off and he is alive but he will now hate you.

Usually anything that's breathing is not dead. Just try to keep him alive till the vet opens...Good luck.

simple...if he's not breathing and his heart not beating....that means he's dead...if he's not moving but still breathing, he might be sick....get him to a vet soonest.

is he sleeping?? feel the heartbeat...make sure he is not hard and cold...look into his eyes if the iris got bigger....be ready

Listen for his heartbeat and hold your finger right in front of his nose to feel for any air he's breathing out. Go be with him. See if there is anything wrong with him. Good luck to you and your little puppy!
