How to tell if my dog is a full bred border collie?

If your dog is a purebred border collie, the parents would have been registered and the puppies all registered. You would have received registration papers when you purchased the puppy. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine because there is no other way to prove it.

If your dog isn't registered and you really want to know what she is take her to the vet and have a DNA test. They are over 99% accurate and show the breed or breeds that are in your dog. I had to take my Boxer/ Border Collie mix and have her DNA tested to prove that she was not a Pit for my land lord to allow me to keep her. It cost around $58 and I had the results in about 2 weeks. The color pattern on a Border Collie is not set so your dog doesn't have to look identical to the picture for her to be pure bred.
