    • I dont know how people can look at a pic of a dog, and instantly decide thats the breed they want.. based on a picture.RESEARCH the breed.. learn the potential health issues quirks, special needs, trainability, if its generally good with other pets, kids, etc.. if its going to be protective or friendly, etc.. be sure this breed will fit your lifestyle, and you are prepared to take all the BAD traits that come with the particular breed. This is a Shar Pei. To get a decent breed PET quality.. you can expect to easily spend at LEAST $800... this isnt a common breed tho, and with special needs.. Id reason to say that you can probably expect to pay closer to $1000-1200.This breed is prone to entropian.. its a condition where the eyelid rolls inward and the lashes rub against the eye.. its painful, and surgury is require to correct it. This can easily cost upwards of a few hundred per lid. Are you prepared to pay this? This problem can occasionally crop up even among the best of the bloodlines... its more common among poorly breed bloodlines. This breed is also prone to skin infections.. you need to take care to clean and dry the folds of the wrinkles daily.. expecially the ones around the face. Do you want a dog of this level of maintenence?

    • That is a Shar-Pei. You can get on at a Shar-Pei Rescue, you can check out a Shelter near you or you can find a responsible and reliable Shar-Pei Breeder. The cost depends on where you get the puppy from, so I can't give you an estimate. You just need to look around, call and ask.http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/chinesesharpei.html

    • Shar Pei and I have no idea how much.. Depends on if you want a good one, or..?I've given a couple of them baths, and if feels like your bathing a bristle brush. lol

    • It's a Shar Pei.Be sure to research the breed. They can be stubborn, strong-willed and very territorial dogs. They can be very independent and don't accept strangers very well. They need a LOT of early training and socialization. If poorly socialized or trained, they can become especially territorial and aggressive.A quick google search showed the prices starting around $600 and going up from there.

    • That's a Shar-Pei dog - an ancient breed from China. They don't get really big - about 20" high and weight around 40 pounds. But once the puppies are adults, most of those wrinkles that we love in the puppies, are gone! Adults do not look like this at all.Shar-Peis are pretty expensive - a good quality pet stock dog (not a show dog) starts around $1,500. But that's just the beginning. Add food, leash, bowls, vaccinations, bed, cage, vet treatments, training, toys... The ASPCA (Association for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), THE leading experts on pets, estimates that the first year alone, costs are around $1,500 and then about $700 a year after that. And this is a bare minimum cost.Plus, Shar-Peis have quite a few medical problems, including hips, knees, elbows.... poor eyes, breathing difficulty and more. Their average life span is just 8 to 10 years. If you are REALLY interested in this breed, why not check out Petfinder - they'll link you up with a homeless Shar-Pei looking for a home. Check it out here: http://www.petfinder.comThe other great adoption site is Petango: http://www.petango.com/To read more about Shar-Peis and see lots of pix, go to the Shar-Pei Club of America here: http://www.cspca.com

    • Its a Chinese Shar Pei, but they do not get all that big, about the size of a pit bull and they lose their wrinkles as they age a 3-4 year old Shar Pei will be mostly wrinkle free. You almost always just see pictures of the babies/juveniles because they are the 'cute' ones with wrinkles. Here is a good picture of an adult Shar Peihttp://puppyer.com/img/southern_akc_non-sporting/shar-pei_1072_9.jpgA puppy will cost you around $1000. You should also know that their coats are VERY rough. The name Shar Pei means "sand skin'. While they are babies you need to be careful about cleaning and drying inside the face wrinkles or they can get sores in the creases. They can also be hard to housebreak and be stubborn when training. All that said they are good dogs when properly socialized and trained. I had one growing up and she was very loving towards the family but very defensive around strangers.

    • It's a Shar Pei pup, and they don't get super large, only 18-20 inches and 40-60 pounds. On average they cost around $600-$1,300. Make sure you thoroughly do your research on the breed before making the decision to buy one. They are not really dogs for first time dog owners, so keep that in mind.
