Droolings and Labrador Retriever Alaskan Malamute Mix puppy?

We recently adopted a 8-9 month old Labrador Retriever Alaskan Malamute Mix puppy. The day we brought her home, she was drooling excessively (like puddles!) Then it stopped, and we have started crate training and potty training her, and she drools so much when in her crate! Any suggestions on training this mix breed or any info on either of these breeds and drooling? Thanks!

Well, I can tell you that you adopted a dog that's mixed with a mild drooler (Lab) & an excessive drooler (Alaskan Malamute). Of course, we all know that one reason that dogs drool is because they're hot & it's a way for them to release "sweat". Unfortunately, drooling is a natural process & this ISN'T a trait that you can make go away or even limit permanently... you can't just train them to stop drooling or even hope that they learn to understand when & where they can or can't drool, it's just part of who they are. I have heard of some types of natural remedies that you give to the dog orally that can help treat over excessive drooling, just Google things like "stop dog drooling", "treat dog drooling", etc. but I can't vouch for what works or what doesn't in regards to those things...
