What kind of activities can I do inside to exercise my Dog?

I have an Alaskan Malamute puppy and Monsoon season is about to start here in Korea so I was wondering what kinds of things I can do indoors with him to help him get his energy out for the next couple of months until the rain finally stops.

    • you'll have to walk him when the weather allows it, there is no way you can excersise that type of breed purely indoor for that amount of time, unless you go to a dog trainin facility and have him in a swiming pool machine or something for training dogsthese dogs are breed for heavy work several hours a dayalso try to get some toys that you can put treats inside (like kong toys), for mental stimulation

    • I would toss a doggy raincoat on him and booties, if possible and still try to take him for a little mini-run at least. Here, there problem is that it is too hot for any of us to go outside without risking our health, so I have opted for running up and down the hallway with my dog. We play chase in the house, we do lots of training for new tricks and whatnot, we jump on and off the couch during our house sprints... the house isn't very big so I get dizzy and she probably does too but the exercise is important, be it physical or mental. You'll just have to go nuts inside the house - you'll have to break the normal rules for indoor behavior. But it is tons of fun! Good luck!

    • it is a good time to work on bits and pieces of the obedience routines... as long as a dog is working doing something they are happy... They are happiest when they know they have pleased us... AND so are weThe hall ways in a house are wonderful for teaching correct sits and straight stands and downs.... Good Luck- Have Fun,H.O.T.
