    • take her to the vet or a pet store and see what they think, or get some books that have pictures of each dog and see what she looks like through those. good luck

    • Take her to the vet, they will be able to tell. This is a American Bulldog when a adulthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Bulldogand this is a Boxer when its a adulthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxer_%28dog%29

    • Boxers tails are supposed to be docked and American Bull Dogs Have their tails:)If you can link a pic of your dog and let me see... They do kinda look alike but its very eady to tell them apart... If you can put a pic up please do:) Boxers usually only have brindle but every dog could have that a pic would help us alot:)

    • I may be completely wrong but i think i heard somewhere that they are the same thing (as in, a boxer would have the nickname american bulldog). I don't know. Bulldogs and boxers both have very distinct features. Look up a picture of both and see which one your dog looks like.

    • Why don't you post a pic and then have the people on here tell you their opinion....we might be able to help. If you can't post a pic, take her to the vet. You could also go to akc.org and look at pictures of each breed and compare them to your dog. Hope this helps.

    • You obviously did very little research before getting your dog. At the very least, you went through a breeder (or puppy broker?) that you do not even trust. I hope that you are more responsible when it comes to the care that you give your dog, now that you have her.

    • look up both breeds and compare pictures. from the way it sounds the person that sold you the puppy should be held accountable for poor breeding practices. you may even have a american bulldog/boxer mix. i had an amer. bulldog and everyone confused mine with a pit bull.

    • Try comparing her to pictures of american bulldogs and boxers. But no matter what you have, both are excellent dogs. Try looking at the colors too. Boxers can be white or spotted, but usually have that classic brown and white color. They sometimes can look alike when they are young. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/americanbulldog.htmhttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com/boxer.htm

    • It could be a mix, but i would ask your vet for their opinion. In the meantime, you can set up a page on Dogster.com and place the link here so we can all view the pictures!Just for fun, here is my Boxer's page: http://www.dogster.com/dogs/461899

    • The only way to get you in the right direction is if you have proper registration paperwork. They are not recognized by the AKC, but are by the UKC. If you don't have the proper registration paperwork, I'm afraid you're out of luck as to proving what it is for sure. This breed does often resemble boxers sometimes.

    • do you have any pictures. but they probably look similar for the first few months or almost a year.. they look similar but when she gets older you will be able to tell...have a great day...pictures would help alot! email them if you want...

    • The difference is in the shape of the skull. The Boxer has a definite stop, the muzzle is prominent. The American Bulldog has a smooth slanting stop and the muzzle is smaller or rounder in appearance compared to the boxer. The Boxer should have a slight underbite i.e. lower jaw should protrude beyond the upper jaw and bend slightly upwards.

    • If you bought her, did she have papers? Did you see the parents or at least one? If not, you will never know for sure. You will be able to make a guess when she is an adult. For now, love her, but be a leader, give her structure and rules. Make a commitment to her for her life. Try this fun test and see if you can find the American Bulldog or the Boxer. They are both in there. Along with several other bully breeds.http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.html

    • I am a pround momma of an American Bulldog, and know a lot about the breed. They are commonly mistaken for other types of dogs, Boxers being one of those breeds. Also, there are two types of American Bulldogs, the Johnson is one of them, and I believe the other is the Scott. Its hard for most to tell American Bulldogs apart from other breeds if they are unfamiliar with the breed, but there are things you can do to guide you if you have an unregistered dog. In a full blooded dog, the nose should be black, and only black. Also, the dogs eyes should be brown, and they should be the same color. Also, your dog should not have a solid black coat. American Bulldogs can be solid white, or a color mix of white and either black, red, brown, or brindle. If you still have trouble, check out the National Kennel Club's Website. They have a lot more specific info.
