Can an English Bulldog and American Bulldog get along?

I have an english bulldog, and was thinking about adding an American Bulldog. I know that American Bulldog's need more excerise, and Im probally gonna have to walk it longer and seperately than the english bulldog. But as far as like them hanging out in the house with the american bulldog having more energy will he just annoy the english bulldog, or can it work. What do you think?
