dog question?

how many species of hounds is there?What kind of species?I just bought a puppy and he seems like soe type of hunting dog he certainly isnt a beagle, blood hound, or a dashund. I need help on this.thnx alot Rayven Wolf

If it has blue looking spots, normal length body & legs could be a Blue Tick. there's also Basset hounds. They have short legs,long heavy bodies, long ears & are colored like a beagle.
