    • A lot I imagine as they are a fairly rare breed in this part of the world still.besides that, I wouldn't recommend getting one unless you are a very experienced dog handler as they can be very dangerous dogs in the wrong hands and need very careful training and socialising. If you are set on getting one, try and get to know people who have them already, the breed club would be a good place to start, and get lots of advice from experienced owners. They definetly aren't a dog for a novice owner.I'd imagine Anatolian shepherds are pretty much the same. These dogs are also bred to work and need A LOT of excersize every day so unless you are prepared to excersize for at least 1.5hrs a day you might want to reconsider your choices.

    • You're not going to find and Ovcharka in the UK - most of them are not really suitable for the average owner anywayFor an Anatolian - contact the breed club to find out how much they cost, but be prepared for a long wait as there were only 48 bred in the UK last year. They are not a breed for the faint hearted either.http://www.asdc-of-gb.netfirms.com/

    • I'm sure they are around..both breeds as a matter of fact! I would be leary of either breed if you do not have much experience with dogs..they are not for the novice dog owner... We have 2 anatolians that we love and adore but we also have alot of experience with training dogs and working with breeds like this.... do your research..get to know some people in the breed you decide on... get familiar with the quirks... they can be big scary and dangerous dogs

    • Not sure if they are available in the UK but i remember watching a video of one and thinking 'wow what a beautiful dog' I couldn't believe how big and powerful they are!!Here is a link so you can watch some videoshttp://youtube.com/results?search_query=anatolian+shepherd+dog&page=1
