Kelpie x staffy a real ankle Biter!!! How do I stop this?

We have a beautiful kelpie x staffy 4 months old any advice on how to stop the ankle biting?

Hi your pup is quite young so make sure you are very firm and so NO Kelpies Cattle dogs all theses breed are herders i had one he was the same like i said so No dont yell it be firm hope this helps.

Oh my! Kelpie's are ankle biters. They were bred to herd and this is their method of action. I will assume you don't have cattle, or sheep, so the available ankle is a human one. This will take conditioned training. When your puppy bites your ankle tell them NO!. Then redirect their energy into a "job". This would be getting your pup interested in catching frisbees, balls, etc. Both breeds are high energy dogs (especially Kelpies). They need to be kept busy most of the time. Have fun while redirecting your pups interest in ankles to something else.
