    • I currently reside in the New England area (Mass) and have been involved with a breed specific GSD rescue for quite some time. I know of quite a few GSD breeders and GSD specific clubs and organizations that may be of assistance to you in New England.Contact the breed club in your state! The German Shepherd Dog Club of Greater New Haven could be a great resource to you.http://gsdcgnh.org/breeders.htmlAlso, the German Shepherd Dog Club of America and the United (GSD) Schutzhund Club of America are both very valuable.http://www.germanshepherddog.com/clubs/new_england.htmhttp://www.gsdca-wda.org/clubs.htmIf you feel that I could be of help to you and would like to contact me, feel free to send an e-mail!

    • Here's a brilliant idea; adopt a GSD. They are one of the most breeds in need in America. Check this out:http://www.gsrne.org/Unless of course, you are going to spend 1000's of dollars on showing your dog. Educate yourself on what backyard breeders are: if it doesn't have AKC papers then guess what? its a back yard breeder dog.Seriously, welcome to the 21st century - adopt a dog!

    • Consider adopting - Your costs will be lower, and these shelters do get German Shepard puppies. This group should be most helpful:http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/GSDRescue/--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------http://www.nycacc.org/This is in NYC - you can call & check what they have.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bailey, White German Shepherd, 40 + lbs,This sweetie WILL BE EUTHANIZED SOON!Shelter Staff made the following comments:MY NAME IS BAILEY. I AM ABOUT 1 YEAR OLD.MY OWNER LOST HIS JOB AND CAN'T KEEP ME.I AM GOOD WITH DOGS AND CHILDREN.I DO NOT HAVE VET RECORDS.CALL ANYTIME: 203-226-52571 year old. This guy is not crate trained, is great with other animals and children. He is vetted, heartworm negative, needs neuter. No aggression problems. http://cowetakidsshelterrescue.webs.com/dogsreadyforhomes.htmCALL ANYTIME: 203-226-5257(I know this is Newnan, Georgia, but transportation is available.)1) There are volunteers that will transport dogs by car. Usually these trips are broken down into 20 legs - each volunteer drives 50-70 miles.2) AirTran & Delta might be other options.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------http://pawsparamus.wordpress.com/------------------------------------------------------------------------------------[GSDRescue] Gastonia N.C. FINAL HELP Gaston County Animal Control - ALL Can Be Euthanized FIRST THING MONDAY 10/20/08They have many GSDs and might have some puppies.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sorry to digress, but if you saw the number of e-mails I get describing the numbers of dogs getting euthanized, (and I only get a small fraction of these) , you'd think twice before getting an animal from a breeder. There are often many purebreds available for adoption.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------OT - For those living near the New York area, and are looking for a cat, give this website a try: http://www.nycacc.org/Currently there is a crises situation there, and they need to adopt out as many cats as possible!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PS: With the current economic crises, there are many pets that are being dumped on the animal shelters (Another-words most will be euthanized)
