    • I BELIEVE IT'S BETTER TO RAISE ONE FROM A PUP. BUT IT'S MUCH HARDER WORK THEN IF YA GOT AN OLDER ONE FROM A PIT BULL RESCUE SHELTER. I HAVE 2 PITS AND 2 KIDS AND I'M NOT SURE WHO LOVES WHO MORE. JUST REMEMBER IT'S SOOOO IMPORTANT TO PROPERLY SOCIALIZE THEM FROM THE TIME THEY'RE 5-6 WEEKS OLD. I WOULD TAKE THEM EVERY WHERE WITH ME TO GET THEM USED TO EVERY THING.

    • APBT's are great dogs to have around family, but the chances are not good about behaving well around other dogs. Remember, these dogs have been bred for 100's of years to be fighters. Some pits will tolerate other dogs, some will not. You can socialize them all you want, but you can't change their genetic structure. Being a pitbull owner requires you to be an interactive owner. Irresponsible pit owners are the reason breed specific legislation threatens to take these loving animals away from us. If you can be a responsible owner, get one. But please get one from a rescue or shelter. Not from some back yard breeder who is only looking to make a buck.

    • I would try my local pitbull rescue.....before putting them up for adoption a responsible rescue will test them for temperment with other dogs as well as children.....if you get a puppy just remember the most important thing is SOCIALIZE!!!!!!! and training.....good luck...also spay/neuter your new dog .....
