That is very unusual for a beagle, usually they bolt right out the door. But your beagle most likely respects you, he knows your the leader. My beagle does the same thing, yes i did train him to do that, but he still does it... hope this helps...
You are obviously doing something right!Your beagle respects you - you are the leader. Count yourself lucky -- most of us have to work hard to get dogs to do that!
