wrap up the paws
I just adopted a dog and the pads of the bottem of her feet are taring off. How do I prevent this.?
The dog is a German Shephern and we got her 3 days ago. A whole top layer of the pad on the dog's paw is coming off. The dog dosn't look like she is in pain but it is kind of desterbing seeing her paw the way it is. if she is a puppy it may be serious-- call the closest veterinarian

put some neosporin on them. I used to rub lotion on my dogs feet.

you should definately take it to the vet as soon as possible. It may become worse and worse and not be able to be cured.

Maybe the dog is running around on concrete and was maybe not used to it. you should try putting small strap-backing sneaker socks, or really small socks on the dogs paws. If the problem doesn't get better in a week or so, I would take the dog to the vet cuz it might have an infection.
