I would say the Grey Hound, they are low shedders, that have little dander. Poodles, Toy/Standard/ or Miniature, they have hair the doesn't shed a lot but they require grooming. Some other breeds are: Shih Tzu Yorkshire TerrierMaltese Chinesed CrestedBichon Frise Airdeal Terrier Havenese Bedlington Terrier
I would recommend a poodle, possibly a Miniature if you can't handle a Standard. The Standards are bigger, but they are extremely energetic and would make a great hiking pal. Good luck!
