Why does my dog stand up like a meerkat?

I have 4 dogs which are chihuahuas and 1 of them stands up like a meerkat does. Can anyone tell me why it does that?

he is trying to get your attention over the others- perhaps he is ,more dominant than the rest. He is ultimately trying to get to your hands- so you can fuss him!

I had dogs do it to get more heighth to see something far away or in tall grass.

he might be begging for attention since there are other dogs around

im guessing that one is trying to show the other 3 Chi that its the leader and on one can control him

My little dog does that too,she is saying please notice me,perhaps your dog is saying that too.

my dog used to do that every time it was treat time its to tell you she/he loves you because you treat her/him well without cruelty, my dog used to count like carol vodermann she could add up and take away i never taught her this she just knew how many chocolate dog buttons were in my hand and she never saw them to know.

I dont know, my dog does this too and mine is a collie

My Yorkies do the same - it's just to make them taller so they can see further!

im not sure why they do it, maybe its a trick for attention lol My dog does it sometimes she looks like a meerkat too cus she looks around like one.xxx

i have chihuahuas and 2 of mine do it, they tend to do it when treats are around or if i am am talking to them and they then want me to pick them up. Great little dogs, she looks so sweet when she does it.

My two cats do it too, (and have a play war dance like the MeerKats). I think they do it (and climb on things) to get a better view.
